"Romana," he asks looking down at her but she's fast asleep against his chest. "Of course you'd fall asleep on such an important question." He brushes the hair out of her eyes and places a tender kiss on her face. He lets her sleep for a little while longer, knowing that, right at this moment, she is his, and he watches her before playing with her soft ginger hair, running his fingers through it. Finally he pulls his shirt back on. "Romana," he whispers softly. "We should get going."

"Five more minutes," she mumbles sleepily against his chest.

"For you, my lady, anything." He knows he can never refuse her anything, but he almost feels like he is just a glorified pillow right now. Still there could be worse things, although nothing comes to mind right now because she is a distracting him with her light kisses against his neck.

He notices a discarded bag on the floor and, with one arm wrapped around Romana, holding her close to him, he reaches with his other arm and picks it up, looking inside and frowning. "What are these?" he mumbles.

Romana sits up straightening her dress. "Jelly babies?" She gives him an innocent, questioning look.

"I can see that," he says as he entangles himself from her.

"Then why ask? Would you like a jelly baby?"

"Oh Rassilion, its only taken him hundreds of years to corrupt another Time Lord," he muttered to himself.

"No I do not. They are wiley little creatures that deserve no place in Time Lord society."

"I think they are quite nice," she picked one up and bit its head off. Braxiatel looked at her in utter horror as if she had regenerated into a jelly baby.

"That's disgusting, how low you have sunk," he hissed. "I see I shall have to take you under my wing again."

"Brax, lighten up, it's just a Jelly baby."

Brax frowned in such a way she knew he was deadly serious

"You need to tell me how utterly evil they are."

"No, I won't," she replied in a defiant voice.

"Umm well, I have ways to make you," and he proceeded to tickle her.

"No Brax," she squealed as he pulled her close to him, holding her firmly against him.

"Tell me," he said lowering her to the ground as she continued to giggle. "Tell me you love me."

"I love you, please don't."

"How much do you love me?" He continued tickling as she struggled out of his grasp, but he held her arms firmly to the ground, kissing her face as his moustache brushed against her face, which he knew full well drove her crazy

"I love you more than the Jelly babies," she teased.

"Now confess the truth about the jelly babies."

"What's going on?" said a voice, making them jump. It wasn't even that his brother and Romana were fooling around when they were meant to be on an important mission, that made the Doctor upset, it was that his beloved jelly babies were on the floor.

"My jelly babies," he hissed. "Mine! Say sorry."

"Sorry," mumbled Romana, who tried so hard to suppress a giggle that she buried her head against Brax's shoulder.

"Well, Brax, what do you say about this?"

"Not a lot," he mumbled, "but my hands are clean of all wrong doing."

"Coward," hissed Romana trying not to smile as she looked up at him.

Rory had returned home, not really knowing where to look and knowing they should contact the Doctor. He should go home to Amy, after all he did love her (he waited 2,000 years for her). When he arrived, Amy was in bed asleep. He tucked a strand of fiery red hair behind her ear and slipped into the bed beside her.

But sleep did not come to him, just words that meant nothing to him. The words echoed in his mind.

Romanadvoratrelundar. President of Gallifrey. Rassilion. Leela. Braxiatel. The Axis. Time war. Daleks.

What were these things? These people? He did not know of them.

He reached for the pocket watch. "Please open me," said a voice. He turned it over, tracing his fingers across it. The name said 'Narvin'. Why did he have it? It clearly was not his, yet he could not deny the truth. No, he could not open it. Once he did would it reveal him to be some kind of monster? Whoever Narvin was, he knew now he did not want to be him; he had seen a few of the things he did.

"Narvin! Please don't," the voice screamed in his head.

"I'm sorry," he whispered, and then he grabbed the watch, throwing it across the room where it hit the wall with such a great force that it shattered.

The Doctor stood in the console room, "Melody, the daughter of my companions, was taken. I'm sure Romana has filled you in on what happened."

"Romana thinks one of your companions isn't human, they felt familiar to her."

"I would know if they weren't; I know Amy. I met her when she was a little girl."

"And Rory, what about him?"

"I would know."

"Not if he fob watched himself, if the war was going as bad as Romana said it was. You know she has very good instinct. If Romana says one of your companions is familiar then you need to trust her. I should know, she was my student for so long, but the student learns from the teacher. She has learnt all her training from me and she was the very best Student I had."

"You had much more than an academic interest in her," he glanced at his brother.

"I never touched her when she was my Student."

"But you wanted to, didn't you?" the Doctor asked.

"My thoughts are my own."

"Even if they were wrong," said the Doctor, "Why don't you go? I don't want you here, and Romana doesn't need you."

"Romana has asked me to stay. I'm sorry but I won't leave while she needs me. It's called responsibility; you should try it sometime."

"And what's that supposed to mean? I am a very responsible Time Lord. She's not your responsibility she's mine."

"What's going on?" said Romana's voice.

"Brax has to get back to his collection."

Romana's face fell. "So soon Brax? I thought you might hang around."

"I am here as long as you need me, my lady." Brax replied, shooting his brother a glare.

Romana sighed. "Are you two fighting again?"

"No I am not, that is not what I am doing."

"I thought you'd be pleased to see your brother."

Brax shrugged his shoulders, "Well it's being a long and tiring day and I think I should depart for the night. If you need me my Lady, you know where to find me."

Braxiatel left the room leaving Romana and the Doctor alone.

Romana frowned. "Doctor, really, I would have thought you, of all people, would know better, for someone who says family is important."

"It's him."

"Come on, Doctor you being childish. That ridiculous for someone your age."

"Age? I am only 902."

Romana scoffed "I think we both know you are older than that!" She shook her head, "I wish you two would get on for once."

"Well it's not me, it's him. You don't know what he's done!"

"What has he done?"

"He stole my last jammy dodger, and then he did that thing."

"That thing?" Romana asked. "Can you be more specific?"

"You know, the googly eye thing with you."

Romana rolled her eyes. "Why is it the older you get the more childish you become?"

"I am not!"

"Yes you are."

"Then he took my jelly babies."

"Actually that was me."

"You see? It's him! He is a bad influence."

"Don't be silly Doctor! Brax doesn't even approve of jelly babies. He said they were wile little creatures that have no place in Time Lord society."

"He always steals my stuff," the Doctor mumbled. "You better make sure he doesn't take my fez because it's cool."

She cut him off with a kiss as he pulled her close to him as his arms wrapped around her waist.

"We have to find Amy and Rory," he mumbled against her lips.

"Later," she kissed him once more

She felt him lift her into his arms and carry her towards his room, placing her on the bed.

She immediately reached for his bow tie: this had to go.

"No, No, Bow ties are cool, Romana."

"Romanadvoratrelundar is cooler, now bow tie or you will be sleeping alone."

"That's like blackmail," mumbled the Doctor.

"Quite probably, but I do it so well," she smirked at him.

When the Doctor woke up Romana was laying next to him in the space that was usually empty. She looked so beautiful he leaned over and kissed her all over her face.

He smiled stupidly to himself, having to pinch himself to remind him she was really there. It had cost him his beloved bow tie, but he would get it back once he figured out where she had put it, or maybe he could go shopping and buy so many bow ties Romana would never know how many he had.

He didn't want to move away from her beautiful form. He would have liked to stay in bed with Romana all day. He gently touched her face as her eyes opened.

"So, where are we going today?"

"Well I need do some shopping."

Romana looked at him in disbelief. "We have to find your Companion's baby!" She frowned at him. "You hate shopping," as suspicion formed in her mind.

Rory is running, running faster than he thought he had ever run in his life. A girl's voice grabs his attention and there she is, his President, dressed in the gold and silver robes, all glitter and glamour, and she looks breathtakingly beautiful. He almost wants to worship her. She is like a deity, or a very beautiful angel.

"Romana," he breaths as he clutches the fob watch.

"Open it!" she demands. He sees in her eyes, the coldness that means it's not a request, but an order.

"I really don't think-" he starts to mumble looking for a possible escape route, but there's none, and he's alone with her and her eyes are cold and hollow, and she takes out a gun and points it at him.

"Romana please," he begs, "I don't want to be the person in that watch ," and he falls to his knees, begging for her to show pity or mercy. Then he does see something... a triumphant look on her face.

"You betrayed me, Narvin. It doesn't do well to betray a President,"

And then the gun goes off.

Rory gasps, his eyes open "it was just a dream," he mumbled, "just a dream."
