ROMANA

A/N This is my first time to write a 9th Doctor story, so let me know what you think in a review. Also Romana will feature later in the story

Disclaimer I don't own it. I would of had the 8th Doctor in the show if I did along with Romana because they are so cute together!

Gallifrey was burning. Falling. Crashing. The beauty all gone in one second. Gallifrey had fallen for the last time. The huge glass dome shattered into a million pieces as the entire citadel shook like a mighty earthquake or like a Toronto lifting it up and throwing it smashing it. Piercing screams were heard as the Dalek's destroyed every last remnant of Gallifrey, the Time Lord's dying at the Dalek's hands.

"Exterminate, Exterminate." screeched the Dalek's as the Doctor forced his way through buildings and streets that had been torn apart, avoiding the dead bodies that now littered the capital, before finally finding her.

"Romanadvoratrelundar,." she looked different this time. Walking towards him her Moonless Midnight hair swayed in the wind, as her eyes displayed sorrow and pain.

"We are not going to win this time" he said looking at her before he lifted her off her feet and gathered her up in his arms. "Romana," he mumbled into her hair as she pressed her petite frame against his chest and he wrapped his arms around her, holding her.

He had already heard about his friends and his brother's ultimate end and refused to let Romana be another casualty, but he could tell she had been injured. Her face was covered in scratches and dirt. Her gowns soiled with the spoils of war, caked in blood and dirt.

She kissed him, her soft lips brushing against his as he returned the kiss touching her forehead lightly with his hands.

Her mental defences were weak like her body. He knew she would have crumbled to the ground if he was not supporting her. she pressed the moment into his hand, her breathing was getting shallow and her eyes pleaded with him to end the war. She didn't need to say a word. He knew what she was asking him to do.

"I can't, Romana there has to be another way."

"Dalek's can not be defeated; you and I both know that." She replied as she trembled slightly at the memories of being at the Dalek's hands.

He didn't want to, but he gently set her down and quickly left, barely managing to stay alive, and time locked the event. When he came back she was nowhere to be found and he screamed her name over and over.

The Doctor staggered to his TARDIS as it set off in flight. He let out a heart wrenching scream at the loss he had just experienced. His planet burning, his people dying in that Time Lock forever over and over again and Romana, the only girl he had ever loved.

Beautiful, noble, Romana. His President and that is how she would remain in his eyes. The best President Gallifrey ever had. He had always known she would be, always known in the end the Time Lords would kill her but not in his wildest nightmares would he think he would play such a direct role in her death, and yet he had killed her.

He crashed to the floor of the TARDIS and blacked out before he regenerated due to the trauma of the Time war. A sweet, beautiful voice called to him but it could not be, could it? She was gone because of him. They all were.

"Romana." he gasped. She was standing there like a beautiful angel, not like how he had seen her last, but in her second incarnation.

"I love you Doctor." she said "Go out there live for me." he blinked his eyes once, and she was gone, leaving him alone in the TARDIS.
