ROSE'S BLOG

Chapter Thirty Seven

Rose was sitting on the sofa inside the TARDIS lounge, working on her blog while she sipped some tea. While she did that, the Doctor strolled in. Rose eyed him warily as he walked over to her, patted her on the head and sat down beside her. They stared at one another for a moment before the Doctor took hold of her laptop and slid it over towards him.

"Will you leave my blog alone?" she said to him.

"I have a thought," the Doctor said. "And since I have neither the time nor the inclination to maintain a blog, I will use yours. It's not going to kill you to share so just relax and let me get my thought out."

Rose sighed but she leaned in to watch while the Doctor cracked his knuckles. He wiggled his fingers over the keyboard for the moment before he typedů

CHOO CHOO.

Rose frowned but before she could say anything, the Doctor continued with his thought.

I LIKE THE WORD CHOO CHOO. IT'S A FUN WORD TO SAY. IT CONJURES UP IMAGES OF BIG STEAM LOCOMOTIVES CHUG, CHUG, CHUGGING THEIR WAY ACROSS THE ENGLISH COUNTRYSIDE.

CHOO CHOO.

He sat back and looked at Rose.

"That's it, that's the thought you were desperate to get out?" Rose said dryly.

The Doctor leaned in and typed some more while Rose watched.

I ALSO LIKE CRUMUDGEON, BEZOAR AND DAGNABBIT. THESE ARE ALSO FUN WORDS TO SAY.

He leaned back and looked at Rose. Rose leaned in and moved the laptop in front of her.

THE ABOVE STATEMENT WAS MADE BY A LOONY WHO ACTS LIKE A FIVE YEAR OLD EVEN THOUGH HE CLAIMS TO BE HUNDREDS OF YEARS OLD. THIS IS NOT ME, I REPEAT; THIS IS NOT ME THAT WROTE THIS.

The Doctor moved the laptop back and typed.

I ALSO LIKE KUMKWAT AND SASSPARILLA.

He leaned back and gave her a smug look.

"So anything else then? Or is it just a list of your favorite words?"

The Doctor leaned in and typed.

I LIKE ROSE BUT SOMETIMES SHE CAN BE A WHINGING, OLD HAG THAT DOESN'T LIKE TO SHARE. I AM TRYING TO LIGHTEN HER DAY AND SHE NAGS ABOUT ME TAKING AWAY TIME FROM HER BLOG. I PAY FOR HER ROOM AND BOARD HERE AND I CAN TAKE HER BACK TO HER HARPY MOTHER AT ANY MOMENT WITHOUT NOTICE.

"You don't pay for anything, Doctor," Rose said after reading that. "And I'm not a whinging, old hag. I just don't like you spying on me and my blog and adding your daft things to it. You don't want me mucking about in your private stuff, do ya?"

"My life is an open book," the Doctor said with a sniff.

"P'eh, sure it is. I so much as breathe on the TARDIS console and you go ballistic."

"The TARDIS is delicate."

"Really? Is that why you keep kicking it and hitting it with a mallet?"

She grinned when the Doctor stared at her without comment.

"Choo choo," he finally said.

Rose patted his head the same way he patted hers. She moved the laptop back to her side while the Doctor continued to stare at her and she made of point of resuming her blog while he kept on staring.

"Are you gonna stare at me all night?" Rose said as she typed.

"Choo choo," the Doctor said.

"Mmm," Rose said as she kept on typing.

The Doctor grinned and Rose let out a yelp when he suddenly seized her and held her close to him.

"I can't believe you are typing and working on a silly blog when I'm right here," he growled playfully in her ear. "I'm much more interesting."

Rose tried to act uninterested but inside her heart was racing at the fact that the Doctor was so close to her and holding her so close to him.

"I have important things to write about," she said, imitating the Doctor's sniff.

She squealed when the Doctor tickled her armpits.

"It can wait," he growled in her ear.

"Choo choo," Rose growled back.

She squealed when he tickled her some more.

"Now you're talkin'," the Doctor said. "Say it again, Rose Tyler."

"Choo choo, choo choo, CHOO CHOOOOOOOOOO!" Rose squealed when he tickled her again.

"Say it, SAY IT!" the Doctor yelled.

"CHOO CHOOOOOOOOO!" Rose screamed while the Doctor laughed.

She laughed when the Doctor kissed her cheek. He let go just long enough to shut off her laptop and close it and then he held her again and the two of them cuddled and relaxed.
