THE END OF TIME

Author note final chapter thank you to XTimeGirlX for Beta Reading this story

Disclaimer I dont own Doctor who if I did I would bring the Timelords back and David Tennant would still be the Doctor

The Doctor knew he had to stop this, and he also knew that it would cost him his life. But he would do this. He would sacrifice himself for the people he loved; after all, he had the largest family on earth.

With determination in his eyes, he slowly looked up at the Timelords again. It was only then that he noticed his mother standing there with tears in her eyes. If he killed Rassilon she would also die and be lost forever; the woman who had cared for him, protected him and loved him. It was the hardest choice he would ever have to make in his life. Kill Rassilon and the Timelords, including his mother in order to save the Earth; or let Rassilon live and lose everything, including the earth. But save his mother.

He pointed the gun back at the Master, who suddenly had started to look afraid as the Doctor came closer. Gripping the gun tighter, he uttered five words. "Get out of the way."

A smile came across The Masters face and he jumped out of the way. With a deep breath, The Doctor reached for the trigger...and BANG! The bullet shot through the air, cracking like a whip...

"The link is broken! Back into the Time-war, Rassilon, back into hell!" The Doctor exclaimed, spinning around to look directly at Rassilon.

Rassilon could feel the rage inside himself and he pointed his glove at the Doctor. "You will die with me, Doctor!"

The Doctor sighed. "I know." He looked almost defeated and tired now. Tired of all the pain... all the loss; a longer life really wasn't worth it.

The Master couldn't let this happen. The Doctor had saved his life so many times. The Doctor, his childhood friend could have shot him right there and then...but he hadn't.

"Get out of the way." Those five little words. The Doctor looked at the Master, shocked.

"You did this to me! All of my life you made me!" The Master shouted, his rage towards Rassilon building.

His whole childhood was never really a childhood, but more like a life of duty. Maybe now the noise in his head would cease.

One... As the Master struck Rassilon with the life energy from his hand in the chest.

Two... As Rassilon griped in pain.

Three... Rage now filling the Master as he continued while the Doctor pleaded with him to stop.

Four... As Rassilon now struggled to stand.

Five... Rassilon and Time Lords were now fading into nothing.

"I'm alive! I'm still alive!" cried the Doctor as he came round. He found himself on floor of the mansion. The Timelords gone and The Master gone.

The Doctor stared at the room, devoid of Timelords...except him. A wave of triumph and relief spread through him; he had won. And he was still alive. So the Ood could stick their ending songs -- he was alive!

But that's when he heard it...knock, knock, knock, knock. Four knocks. The relief flooded from him and was replaced with dread as he turned his head to the side, to see Wilf knocking into the glass door of the chamber.

"Could you let me out? It's just this thing seems be making a bit of a noise."

The Doctor ran over to the chamber, panic seizing him. "The Master left the nuclear bolt running...except its gone critical. Touch one control and it floods. Even the sonic screw driver would set it off."

Realisation dawned in Wilf's eyes as he stared back at The Doctor. "I'm sorry. Just leave me"

"Okay, right then, I will. Because you had to go in there, didn't you? You had to go and get stuck, oh yes! Because that's who you are, Wilfred. You were always this... Waiting for me all this time. " The pieces were coming together now, this was the whole point...this was how his song ended.

"No, really. Just leave me. I'm an old man, Doctor. I've had my time."

"Well, exactly, look at you! Not remotely important! But me? I could do so much more! SO MUCH MORE!" He beat his chest. "But this is what I get. My reward, and it's not fair!" He started kicking the table and wrecking the room, anger surging through him. Eventually though, he stopped. The memories of all his mistakes, all his actions and all his opportunities rushed through his head and he sighed.

"Oh, lived too long."

If it had been Rose or Donna in there would, he have died to save them without even hesitating, he would have gone in there.

"Wait, let me do it."Jack Looked at The Doctor

"No, no, no, please, don't. No, no, don't! Please don't! Please!" The Doctor called out, but it was too late.

Jack stepped into the booth.

The radiation suddenly filled Jack's body as he fell backwards, clutching his head.

The light in the booth turned red and he groaned, his eyes and jaw clenched with pain as he fell to his knees, one hand on the glass wall. He hissed and grunted with agony, slowly collapsing to the floor and covering his head with hands as if he could ward it all off. He convulsed with every sobbing breath.

Jenny rushed towards the booth as the Doctor grabbed her arm. "Get off me!" She started to cry, and the Doctor pulled Jenny into his arms as the tears poured down her face. Suddenly, the lights in the booth went off and all the power ceased. Disentangling herself from her Dad's arms, she rushed over to Jack; the door swung open and she glanced back at the Doctor. "He's dead!" she screamed. She looked at Jack's lifeless body as the tears streamed down her face.

"There's got be something you can do," as Jenny looked at her Dad "otherwise what's the POINT OF YOU?" She spat as she jumped up, screaming hysterically she started beating her fists against the Doctors chest. "You bring him back! You bring him back!" she screamed, getting more and more hysterical. He wrapped his arms protectively around her as he stared over her head at Jack's body, his hearts aching along with his daughter's. Suddenly, Jack gasped as he came back to life again.

"Jack!" Jenny gasped as she ran back over to the booth and kissed him. Jack wrapped his arms tightly around her, pulling her closer to him. Her fingers in tangled in his hair as they kissed, the tears still wet on her face.

The Doctor knelt down in front of Donna and whispered to her, "Donna?"

Donna's eyes opened as she stared at him, wide-eyed. "Doctor."

"What happened? I was..."

Suddenly she slapped The Doctor, leaving a large red mark on his cheek.

"Ouch! What was that for?" cried The Doctor, not expecting a slap.

"You took my memories! I begged you not to!" Donna glared at The Doctor.

"I had to. All that knowledge was killing you." said The Doctor sadly. It had killed him to do it and to know he would have to again, but he got up and walked away from her.

"Not now after Rassilon did that glove thing to me. It went wrong; it restored my mind." Donna called out to him.

The Doctor turned round and grinned, giving her the biggest hug ever.

"So are you coming with us?" asked The Doctor hopefully.

"Just one trip. I do have something on Earth waiting for me," replied Donna with a smile.

Jenny looked at Jack. "You stepped into a radiation machine and you lived."

Jack shrugged.

"But you died!" Jenny exclaimed, confused.

"I can't die," stated Jack.

"Okay... " said Jenny, doubting him.

"But I can't! Something happened a long time ago, so far away... and I died and was brought back and since then, I can't die."

"But how?"

"Rose. She looked into time vortex; she brought me back but she couldn't control it. She brought me back for ever, so now I'm like a fixed point in time."

"Jenny," Jack looked at her. "There's a job going at Torchwood. Do you want to take it? Unless you are going with your Dad."

Jenny looked up at him, smiling. "I'll take it."

Jack smiled at Jenny, feeling like he could burst with happiness as he looked at her.

"Hold on, I better go tell my Dad," Jenny said before turning away from him and walking towards the Tardis.

Jenny stepped into the Tardis.

"So, where do you want to go? We've got the whole universe; brand new worlds all waiting for you." The Doctor grinned.

"We could go to the milky way planet! You know it's literally made of milky ways, can you imagine that? Or we could try the planet Barcelona, it's a planet where dogs have no noses! What about the Eye of Orion? It's very wet but the most beautiful planet out there... Ohh! What about the Lost Moon of Poosh?"

As the Doctor rambled on about new worlds, talking at 90 miles per hour, Jenny remained silent.

"Okay, what is it?" said the Doctor, sensing his daughter's silence.

"I'm not coming. I'm staying here." She told him, biting her lip.

"You're doing what?"

Suddenly, the Tardis door slammed shut and began shaking wildly as it set to flight. They clung to the console, trying desperately to hold their balance.

"What? What!" The Doctor exclaimed, looking at the Tardis screen.

"Dad, stop it! Let me out! Take me back right now!" yelled Jenny, thinking of Jack.

"Its' not me! It's the Tardis, it's going out of control!"
