Bernice came to the front of the collection, for Brax had told her she had a visitor. She headed towards the big brass doors and promptly opened them.

"Jason Kane! What the bloody hell are you doing here?" Benny was shocked, her hands placed firmly on her hips. What did he need? He couldn't just turn up out of the blue, not after everything he had done.

"So, you're pleased to see me, that's good." Jason chuckled softly running his hands through a mass of curls.

"I thought I told you I did not want to see you again." Bernice hissed.

"And I told you that you are wasted here. What are you doing here, Benny?"

"Brax needs me here. Aleena has been taken."

"It's not your responsibility." Jason said, frowning. He didn't want Benny to get herself in any trouble that didn't concern her.

"Well somebody has to do something," Benny snapped. "You didn't see what he was like when he lost Romana, and now his child? That's too much for anyone to handle."

"Oh," Jason nodded, stuffing his hands in his pockets. Benny nodded defiantly at him; she was going to help Brax no matter what he said.

"Anyway," Jason cleared his throat. "I brought Peter. Adrian was somewhat…preoccupied."

Benny rolled her eyes. "Off course he was. Let me guess, with Bev."

Jason nodded before Peter came running in. "Mummy!" he cried joyfully. Benny beamed and hugged her son tightly. She hadn't seen him in ages and missed him terribly.

"Here, Peter, let's get you a snack," Bernice ignored Jason, picking up her son and carrying him towards the kitchen. Jason ambled casually behind her, taking in the ship.

"Nice place," he muttered to himself more than to Benny. Which was good, because she didn't want to talk to him. He could beg all he wanted; she wasn't going to take him back. Even if she wanted to. She wasn't going to get hurt again.

She sat Peter in a chair before fetching him some cookies and milk. Jason was leaning against the wall, and he snatched a cookie for himself when Benny wasn't looking.

"Thanks, mummy." Peter said politely, eagerly biting on the delicious treat.

"No problem," she kissed the top of his head before turning towards Jason who was staring at her.

"What?" she said irritably.

"Why are you really here?" he questioned.

"What do you mean; I told you that Brax needs my help." Bernice said again.

"Is he paying you extra?" Jason pondered.

"Of course not!"

"Well then what?" Jason started, before realization dawned over him. "Oh."

"What?" Bernice was getting frustrated.

"I get it, you two are together."

Bernice sighed. "No, we're not. We're just friends. Just like we're just friends."

"Friends," Jason repeated. Benny nodded. "Friends have to eat, right?"

"I—I suppose," Benny was confused at the question.

"So, I'll pick you up around seven tonight?"

Before she could give a answer he had left.

Braxiatel watched the encounter between Benny and Jason. Jason was saying something to her and Peter, and she tried to hide her blush as she hurriedly picked up some dishes. She was happy, unlike him but she could do so much better, much better.

It was time to move on and right now Brax knew what he wanted. He walked back into his office stood at the window and watched as Jason left. "I make no applogies Mr Kane, for what I am about to do," he muttered quietly to himself before Braxiatel departed from his office.

Winifred glanced around the large wardrobe room in awe. Donna had told her she could find clean clothes here. She was glad, too, because the stink from her frock was enough to knock her out cold.

It was odd lots of weird clothing could anyone have wore this stuff finally she saw a school girl outfit and she pulled the clothes on and after a quick wash she headed for the console room hoping she would not anger the doctor twice in one day.

When the Doctor saw her, he repressed a sigh. He looked very sad. Winifred knew immediately she had picked the wrong outfit.

"Go change," he said. His tone was angry.

"I suppose this was your friend's outfit as well." She muttered.

" Yes, he looked away.. "Now change it," he ordered.

"Doctor, " she said not making any attempt to move.

He looked at her. He knew it wasn't her fault."Today is the anniversary of her death," the Doctor answered.

"You must have loved her a lot."

"I did, very much."

"How did she? I mean, if that's not a delicate question."

"A war, involving the Daleks. They destroyed Gallifrey, my home planet. Only my brother and baby niece survived, along with myself. Now someone has taken her."

"That's awful," Winifred said. "Is there no trace of her at all?"

"Afraid not," he rubbed his tired, blood shot eyes.

"You look like you haven't slept for some time."

"Possibly, but I can't not until I find her."

Winifred frowned softly

"Get some sleep, Doctor." Winifred patted his shoulder. "Everyone needs their rest and you will be useless to her like this."

He knew she was right and he departed from the console room.

Winifred ran her hands over the console. The TARDIS wrapped her in a warm glow humming softly.

"If only I could remember," she mumbled to herself, "I must have had a life somewhere, somewhere."

Flashes of a life played in her mind only brief moments. Walking through the darkness, the Daleks behind digging her in the back as she walked in silence never uttering a kind word and then after the work was done they'd send her away again in silence until the next day.

Had she just got used to it accepted this torture was normal, that this was her life? She sank to her knees sobbing out of pure frustration. Everything hurt right now, the crushing, never ceasing pain and confusion inside her taunted her endlessly.
