Disclaimer I own nothing. That can't be right Why can't I own Brax :D

Romana was still alive, the Doctor needed to find her. She was out there alone without anyone or anything and it was all his fault. He should have seen what was staring him right in the eyes but he had missed it. The Doctor started to rant and mumble to himself angrily.

Donna was getting quite sick of watching his nervous act. "Doctor, I do wish you would-"

"It's Romana, she's still alive. Winifred has to be her."

"But, you said she died." Donna was alert now.

"I thought she had, but maybe she survived, after all this time. I couldn't recognize her because her mind was broken and she lost her memory."

"All right, spaceman. I believe you. She couldn't have gone far, she doesn't have a ship. And we should tell Brax, she's his wife after all."

"She's not his wife they never married," the Doctor grumbled. "Besides, we should find her first. No point giving him false hope"

Bernice made her way into the kitchen fixing a hot chocolate for herself when Braxiatel. came in. "So I take it you are going spend some time with her today?"

"I'm busy," he said quickly

"You are scared," Bernice looked at him, raising her eyebrows. Her mouth was curved in the most adorable smile, Brax was caught off guard.

Irving Braxiatel laughed. I don't get scared."

"Right," Benny didn't look like she believed him, but took his word for it. "So today, you are going to spend the afternoon with Aleena. You really do not want to fight me on this, Irving."

"A fight I could not hope to win. But I am afraid I have to decline." Brax said stiffly.

"Oh, do you really? I don't think so. No more excuses. Joseph, Hash and Clarissa are here, so don't you use work as an excuse not to spend time with her."

Braxiatel sighed. He found it impossible to win fights with Benny. Even though Hash and Joseph were merely robotic machines, he knew there were quite capable in their tasks. As for Classira—his private secretary—he was sure the collection would fall apart without her in charge.

"Fine," Braxiatel sighed in defeat.

Benny's gaze bounced between Braxiatel, who side stepped across the grass, his hands waving in the air at his thirteen-year-old daughter Aleena. She was with her own son, Peter, who stood not far away with a puppy, its tongue dipping out to lick the corner of his mouth. Peter squealed in delight.

As Benny leaned back on one elbow on their picnic blanket, the sun came out from behind a cloud and warmed her. She closed her eyes and smiled up at the sky, enjoying the perfect moment. To see Aleena and Braxiatel together without fighting was all she wanted.

Finally, he came back towards her and sat on the blanket beside her.

"Thank you Benny," he said softly taking her hand in his. She rested her head against his shoulder. His arm came around her; unknown to either that Peter had seen their display.

"It is going be all right, Irving, you have her back where she belongs and you still have me." She felt like she belonged here with them.

"Benny I do need you here. I don't know how I will manage with a teenager." Brax admitted, shaking his head.

Benny smiled reassuringly. "It's going be okay. Have you thought about her schooling?"

"Yes, in fact I have. I would like you to tutor her. When you think she is capable I would like her to join the academy within the collection. I can't think of anyone more capable to teach her."

"I accept," Benny beamed, blushing.

As the months went by, Benny continued to see Jason and to teach Aleena, but the relationship between Jason was never what it had been and she knew it couldn't be. Brax had gone, the collection barely standing now. She hoped for his quick return. She had to keep going on for Aleena and Peter, they were her priority now. She had no idea where Brax had gone but she knew the reasons why, she knew only too well.

Dear Diary,

So much has happened I don't even think Aleena knows the things her father has done.

Who am I to break that illusion she has of him?

Ever since he left, I took over the Braxiatel collection; even if he does come back he won't be in charge. I'm not sure I can trust him anymore.

You think when someone goes mad you'd see it happening slowly, but not with Brax. It almost seemed to happen overnight. One moment he's perfectly fine and then it all changed.

How long ago did it start? I really don't know. It could have been the loss of his people, his planet, even Romana.

I shouldn't have expected anything more for him than to run away and not face what he had done after what happened on Cantus. Brax tried to turn Jason into a Cyberman. It didn't work

It was awful, I hate remembering it, but I can't seem to forget.

He told me Jason was dead and for me to wait for him. He said it so calmly as if he was telling me today's weather. He seemed relieved at the news, like a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders. I should be relieved that Jason wasn't dead but it made me worry if he was capable of doing something like that, what else had he done.

Of course, Aleena snuck onto the Doctor's TARDIS and Brax hadn't shown one bit of concern that his teenage daughter was running around the universe. She's home now, thank goodness, even though I trust the Doctor more than Brax at the moment. No I have always trusted the Doctor. He's the most level headed person I have ever met.

Not to mention, when we did eventually find Brax, it was because we needed his help to get the collection out of the trouble we were in. He didn't seem to care about what he had done.

I could have forgiven Brax for that, but Brax didn't seem sorry at all, except for maybe the fact that he got caught. I told him clearly it's not my job to judge him. I was leaving that to Jason.

What I didn't know was things were about to get a whole lot worse. Not just for the collection or for Brax or even Aleena, but for me.
