TWENTY MOMENTS WITH ROMANA

A/N Some mentions of the time Romana was abducted by the Daleks.

Braxiatel/Romana.

Please review.

Disclaimer If I owned it I would have both Romana and Brax in the new series.

Braxiatel held Romana's hand firmly, racing through the collection as they passed known pieces of Art that Braxiatel had collected throughout the years such as da Vinci's the Last Supper, the Mona Lisa and the most beautiful artefacts she had ever seen to grace the beautiful marble floors.

She had never seen such beauty in art before, or seen Braxiatel's collection. She had only heard about it once when she had been travelling with the Doctor. It was almost certainly envied by the rest of the universe.

"How much further Brax," she could hear them micro spans away. "Halt or you will be exterminated."

"Exterminate all life forms."

He could see Romana's was clearly terrified. She had never been scared of the Cybermen, but Daleks they broke this really strong Time Lady he had come to know. He pulled her round the corner towards more works of art that were in displays as she tumbled on top of him.

"They are going to get us," Romana breathed heavily. "There is no escape," As memories long since hidden resurfaced in her.

A darkened room, cold and alone, the sound of the Daleks rolling down the hall way they were coming for her. "Unit 117," they screeched. "You are unit 117," It was a sound that no Time Lord wanted to hear, especially when they were trapped.

She remembered saying "I am Romanadvoratrelundar President of Gallifrey."

"You are unit 117, you are our Prisoner. You will obey all Dalek instructions or you will be exterminated," that word, that sole word exterminate made her tremble, usually she wouldn't be so afraid because usually there would be someone else there to protect her, it wasn't that she was weak, she was simply very afraid of being alone in the cold, dark room.

Then she remembered being fed little, locked away year after year. She'd look down at her weakened body and remembered when her body was young and strong and now all she saw was her all too thin frame. She closed her eyes trying to forget the memories. Trying to forget how long she had to fester there before the Doctor rescued her, before Braxiatel nursed her back to health.

"At some point Romana, you have to trust me. I won't let that happen. When have I ever let anything happen to you?" He was right of course and she knew it. He had always protected her.

She looked into his eyes. "I trust you Brax, I-" he put his hand over his mouth his arm hooked around her waist.

"Shhh". Romana started to tremble and Brax tried to calm her fears, suddenly an almighty crash sent parts of the collection falling down around them, she pressed herself against his shoulder, still trembling and trying hard not to let the memories of her imprisonment resurface and paralyse her.

Brax held his breath and all he could hear was the sound of his own hearts pounding inside him. He glanced at Romana who looked pale as a ghost she was clutching his hand tightly, he had never seen Romana so scared, but twenty years of slavery would do that to you he mused to himself.

"It's all right," he touched her face gently but she didn't move or react, he gripped her shoulders forcing her to look at him. "Romana, look at me."

She had never fully recovered from the Dalek capture that took twenty years of her life. She didn't look at him; he took her face in his hands hoping this would shock her back to reality pressing his lips against hers and kissed her.

She looked a little dazed by the kiss. "Brax," she whispered and, realising she was still gripping his hand, she let go.

He had kissed her; she was shocked by this, he had actually kissed her and if she was totally honest she had always wondered when she had been his student what it might be like if Brax was to ever kiss her.

She had to admit to herself she quite liked it and she did not want to waste this opportunity she would never have the courage to take matters into her own hands.

"Are you all right Roma-" he asked but was cut off by her lips kissing him. Oh this was all wrong! she had been his student once a long time ago surely he could not let her kiss him. His head spun, but found himself kissing her back as he wrapped his arms around her neck bringing her closer to him neither of them wanting the kiss to end. "Romana," he moaned into the kiss.

"Braxiatel," a faint voice heard but he was totally obviously to Romana's voice "Braxiatel," she said again. "Braxiatel," but louder Brax's eyes opened to find himself laying on the ground with his President's worried expression hovering over him.

"Oh, Romana it's you. I was-" he scratched his head, had he dreamt kissing Romana? He sat up.

"What happened?"

"You passed out," she explained. "But you kept mumbling my name.

"How very peculiar," he muttered to himself. Wondering if he had imagined the whole thing. He wasn't at the Braxiatel collection but in his President's office.

Only one question plagued his mind; whether he should tell his President how he really feels for her or not.
