A WISH TO THE SEVENTEENTH CENTURY

Chapter Three

Reunion

"Oh, so yer awake now, love?" I scowled as he came closer.

"Come any closer and I swear I'll sick my dog on you!" I yelled fearlessly. Just the word "sick" made Lia burst into a fit of barking and menacing growls. Jack stopped dead in his tracks.

"I was just coming to tell you to come on deck." Lia growled, but stopped at my touch.

"Fine Sparrow."

I did as told and walked out on deck, Lia being my shadow. There were dirty pirates everywhere, hoisting the mast, taking the helm, some resting-most working, some throwing up into the sea.

"Pretty bad shape for the Indeceptor," I said flatly. Jack raised an eyebrow at me.

"Well, love, we all are pirates, and this is my ship."

"This is not your ship, Jack, you stole it like the rum-soaken wobbly-legged pirate who has no brain or knowledge whatsoever on how this whole adventure of yours will turn out," I stated, storming over to a crate next to Will Turner, who was polishing his sword.

"Aye Miss Schmidt, how are you?"

I looked at him.

"How do you..-"

"Your necklace is out for all to see, you know."

I gazed down at the necklace around my tan neck. I grabbed it. Lia jumped up on Will's lap and he laughed.

"Nice dog, Miss Schmidt!"

"Please, Will. Call me Kira."
