NOT ALL TREASURE IS SILVER AND GOLD

After a moment of confusion, the two navy men decided to speak more with Jack to try to uncover his true purpose in Port Royal. But of course it didn't take long to get them off track and the pirate now was sharing some of his adventures to the navy men. I listened closely and then heard a loud splash. This is probably where Miss Fluffy turns up. Jack, not seeing me dive into the ocean, asked, "Will you be saving her then?"

"I can't swim." The Navy men looked down.

"Pride of the King's navy you are. Do not loose these."

Jack dove in and, apparently not seeing me again, put his hand over mine as we both saved Miss Swan. He and I looked into each other eyes, then I motioned for Jack to help me carry her. He jumped and did as ordered. When we came onto deck, the Nay men ran over and exclaimed, "She's not breathing!"

"Move!" Jack commanded and cut open her corset. I didn't like this part. Surely Jack enjoyed it, though. He ripped it completely off of her and immediately Lizzy's eyes flew open as she coughed up water. One of the sailors said softly, "I never would'v thought of that."

"Clearly you've never been to Singapore," Jack said, wiping his face. replied. I didn't like Elizabeth. She was spoiled. Jack looked down at her and picked up something. A medallion. He fingered it asking, "Where did you get that?"I suddenly remembered this part.

"Captain, we gotta go -- "

We were quickly surrounded by navy men. "On your feet."

I defiantly stood up next to Jack, close to him. We were brought before a man, obviously one of power and another who was covering Elizabeth with his coat, obviously her father.

"Shoot them," her father said.

"Father! Commodore, do you really intend to kill my rescuers?"

"I believe a thanks are in order," Commodore said, extending his arm to Jack. I shook it to keep Norrie from looking at Jack's wrist. Unfortunately, he kissed it, and I recoiled in disgust.

"Don't touch me."

Norrie eyed me and held his hand out to shake Jack's.

He hesitantly took his hand and Commodore jerked up his sleeve, accusing, "Had a brush with the East India Trading Company did we, pirate?"

"Hang him!" Elizabeth's father said. I gasped.

"Keep the guns on them, Gillette, fetch some irons! Well, well, Jack Sparrow isn't it?"

"Captain Jack Sparrow if you please sir." He replied. I mumbled some inaudible words and folded my arms.

"I don't see your ship, Captain," Norrington observed.

"I'm in the market, as it were."

"He said he came to commandeer one."

"I told you he was telling the truth, these are his sir," a Navy man said, handing Jack's items to Commodore.

"No additional shots nor powder, a compass that doesn't point north." Norrie unsheathed Jack's sword. "And I half expected it to made of wood." He continued through Jack's items. "You are without doubt the worst pirate I've ever heard of."

"But you have heard of me." He retorted.

I let out a snort.

"Everyone's heard of him, Norrington. Reason why some people hate him, and adore him. Some." I looked up without fear as Norrie glared at me and Jack grinned.

Great! First impressions are the most important.

"And you, ma'am. What is your name?" Norrie asked, sounding more than a little irritated.

"Isabella Sch ... " Use a new last name. You're old one sucks and you know it!! "Todd. Isabella Todd."

"Ah, the name of Isabel. Common name, but you are certainly not in the common category, luv," Jack piped in.

Norrie leveled him with a glare and eyed me. He saw my bulging pocket and snatched the sack of money out of it.

"By my guess, it's stolen money?"

I folded my arms again and glared at him. It wasn't much money; he shouldn't get all pissy about it. Norrie then handed us both to Gillette as he put Jack and I in irons. Elizabeth followed saying, "Commodore, I really must protest. Pirates or not this man and this woman saved my life."

"One good deed is not enough to redeem of a lifetime of wickedness, whether it be man or woman." Norrie said trying to sway her. I scoffed from behind.

"But it seems enough to condemn him or her," Jack replied. Go Jackie!

I in agreement but stopped at the look Norrington gave us.

"Indeed," he said dryly.

"Finally," Jack sighed as he swung his chains over Elizabeth's head and around her neck. She let out a yelp as her father yelled, "No, don't shoot!"

I smiled.

Finally! I thought this part would never come!

I stood behind Jack and listened as he said to Miss Fluffy, "I knew you'd warm up to me. Commodore Norrington, my effects please, and my hat." Norrie made no move to retrieve his items and Jack said a bit more sternly, "Commodore!" He reluctantly reached over for Jack's things. "Elizabeth ... It is Elizabeth isn't it?" Jack asked.

"It's Miss Swann!"

"Miss Swann, if you'd be so kind ... come, come, dear, we don't have all day." Elizabeth took Jack's effects and was swung around to face him. "Now if you'd be very kind ... "

Elizabeth began putting Jack's effects on him. Jack shot Norrie and her father a smirk and he turned and gave me a wink. I glared at him for being so perverted. I couldn't understand what he found so attractive about ... Miss Fluffy.

"Easy on the goods darling," he said to Elizabeth.

"You're despicable," Elizabeth spat bitterly.

"Sticks and stones, luv. I saved your life, you saved mine, we're square." He turned around once again. "Gentlemen, my ladies, you will always remember this as the day you almost caught ... Captain Jack Sparrow."

At this he shoved Elizabeth toward Norrie and I ran as fast as I could. I didn't care if Jack followed me. I knew he was sliding down that rope with his irons, and I knew the place he was heading next.

William Turner's Blacksmith shop.
