THE GIRL IN THE BLUE DRESS
by Glitter
It was a beautiful night. Jack Sparrow had arrived at the Pirates Ball with absolutely no expectations. Usually, the yearly Pirates Ball was just brawls, women, and rum. This year, however, they were sparing no expence. The ballroom was set, the room was decorated to perfection, and there was more than just rum on the menu. Heck, they even hired Rihanna to sing at the Pirates Ball. Yes, I must say, everything was perfect. At one point, Jack was just lounging around the dance floor, having some rum, never expecting what happened that night, to happen. "Excuse me..." a soft voice said. Jack leaped a foot in the air and spun around. Standing right in front was a beautiful woman in a blue chiffon dress. She had blonde hair, blue eyes, and looked to be about 25. Maybe 26. All of a sudden, Rihanna began to sing a slow, even romantic song. Jack recongized it as "Unfaithful". He'd heard it while at sea. "Care to dance?" the girl asked. Jack responded by taking her hand. They stepped onto the dance floor. they danced together for quite some time. It was very romantic. "You must tell me," Jack said to her while they were dancing. "What is your name?" " To tell you would be a death sentence for me." she replied. "Ah, I see." Jack said. After a long pause, Jack said, "Just so you know, dancing with you has been the most fun I've had all evening." The girl smiled. "I'm flattered." she said. They danced a bit more. As the song ended, the two of them walked onto the balcony. They sat on a bench. "Even though I don't know who you are," Jack said. "I really rather like ye." The girl smiled at him "Me, too." she replied. They leaned closer to each other. Jack was so close to her, he could smell her peach shimmer perfume. Just as they were about to kiss, the clock struck midnight. "Oh!" the girl cried, standing up. "I have to go!" She ran back into the ballroom and started for the door. "But, wait, I don't even know your name!" Jack called after her. "Where can I
find you?" The girl just called back, "Goodbye!" and disappeared.

The following day, Jack was wandering around the Governor's estate when he happened to catch a glance through the open window. Elizabeth was inside, talking to a girl with blonde hair and blue eyes in her room. Jack recognized the girl Elizabeth was talking to. It was the mystery girl he had danced with that evening. Elizabeth, as she talked to her, called her, Meredith. Jack understood. Meredith was the name of the daughter of Commodore Norrington's brother, who was visiting the Governor and Elizabeth that day. Jack understood. He walked away from the window, slowly, praying that, somehow, someday, he would cross paths with Meredith again, THE END.
