THE MECHANISM
A.N. This is just a first chapter, to get somebody else going on a story I can't figure out. It'll be interesting to see how it works in someone else's head! Disclaimer: I DO NOT own Pirates of the Caribbean! It is the property of Disney, and Gore, and Jerry, and so on...not me. Tia could swear that in the distance she heard the sharp barks of a disgruntled mongrel, but thought nothing of it. She had left the solitude of her shack, just for a while, to come to a different type of loneliness. One that, for her, wasn't very lonely at all. The sea... Oh, how she loved it! But then, could not the same be said for any god or goddess who loved their realm with ardent fury? Poseidon claimed to have tamed her furious spirit, to have hushed the fragile motion of nought but a woman's desires...and she would scorn him for such an accusation, when the time came. When she was free. Calypso...how the name, even her mind let memories swirl untamed in dampened fog. The memory of him, saying it, in that voice...how it sent shivers down the spine of a body she should never have possessed. Out across the broad expanse of crystal water, she watched as a mighty ship, with sails of deepest black, emblazoned with purest white, came towards her humble abode. A yellow smile was all she could afford herself, before she blended into the shadows, and readied for a visit she was likely never to regret, or, for that matter, forget.
The sea licked at her bare feet as she stood silently on the coast. The sand caught between her widely spread toes, creating a residue that froze them together like glue. Her ebony mass of braided curls blew about her single form in the strong winds, and her eyes were closed, as her nose caught the sharp scent of the salt which stretched to the reddening horizon. Pelogostos Island, was deserted. The cannibal hoarde had amassed at the mass' roaring centre, to bang their drums and sing their songs at the arrival of another poor sacrificial chief.
