VAN HELSING 3: SOUL HUNTERS
(I do not own Van Helsing except for the DVD. If I did, I wouldn't be writing be writing about it. All made up characters are mine.) Chapter 1: In which three are taken. Madrid, 1899 The flame monster ran in the empty streets of the night. It had just returned from setting another house ablaze. It first seemed like it was going to be a fine night for the monster. Was he ever wrong. When he saw the shadow, fear crawled up his spine, which hadn't happened for years. The shadow he saw was that of a man. One could tell from looking at this shadow that he wore a trench coat and a hat. One thing they couldn't tell was what he was carrying over his shoulder or who he was. The monster was scared to find out what the strange device was, but he already knew the man. It was the legendary hunter, Gabriel Van Helsing. The flame beast then ran for his life, knowing well that the hunter would be following him. It didn't take long for the pain to catch up to him. He fell to the ground, moaning in pain. He extended his claw to reach for what had been lodged in his back. What he pulled out was a small arrow. He looked up to see his attacker. Van Helsing was perched on top of a roof, holding a metal crossbow. He dropped to the ground to view his victim, his dark brown eyes appearing to glow. The flame beast looked at him with glowing yellow slits for eyes. It had the appearance of a werewolf, but instead of fur, fire covered its whole body. Two massive horns also clung to his head. It let out a growl, revealing its sharp teeth. "Do you intend to spill my blood to make God content, hunter?" it growled. Unlike many monsters, this one could speak. Van Helsing simply answered, "Yes, I do." He pulled out a bottle of holy water. The monster tried to back away, but found something set upon the back. He looked up to see a woman with her boot firmly placed on the monster's back. His eyes widened when he saw who it was. It was the hunter's love, Anna Valerious. "Now, Gabriel!" she cried with a rich Romanian accent carried in her voice. Van Helsing then dumped the water on the monster. It made one last roar of pain before letting the flames of it die out, revealing a man with a large wound on his back. Van Helsing made a sign of a cross over his chest and whispered a prayer in Latin. He then turned to the woman who had helped him and smirked. "I thought you were with the others." he said. Anna sighed. "Gabriel, as your fiancee I would expect you to know by now that I won't let you get hurt." she said as she made her way over to him. "Besides, the others are fine." she said. It was then Gabriel's turn to sigh. "As your fiancee, I should have seen that coming." he said. Anna did have a point. He had met her a year ago, and had fallen in love with her. About three months ago, he had proposed to her, to which she had agreed. Ever since then, they and their friends have been fighting evil for The Knights of The Holy Order. This assignment they were doing involved two fire beasts who had gotten into the habit of lighting buildings on fire. The plan they had made was to split up and take down the two when they split up. "Well, our job is done. We should make sure the others haven't been killed." he said. With that, he dashed off into the night, Anna following. It didn't take long for them to find them. In fact, it wouldn't take anyone long to find four people fighting a large fire beast. One of the people turned to them and smiled underneath her dark hood. Gabriel smiled. "Having trouble, little sister?" he asked. His little sister was better known as Victoria or Furie. She turned to him with a smirk on her youthful face. It was surprising to many people that this huntress was only thirteen, or how she even became to be where she was. Her features consisted of dark brown hair, like Gabriel's, and bright blue eyes, which shone when she spoke to her brother. "And the great hunter can do better?" she said, placing her hands upon her hips, only to withdraw a set of blades. "Actually, I know I can do better." he said, pulling out another bottle of holy water. "Prove it!" his sister replied. She then ran back to the monster and plunged her swords in its stomach. When she withdrew them, the creature backhanded her and sent her into a building. She moaned in pain when she landed. Gabriel didn't hesitate. He dashed in the direction of the monster and poured the holy water over him, causing him to collapse and let his flames die out. He then turned to Furie, who began to stand up, clutching her shoulder. "I stand corrected." she said bitterly. Millie, one of her friends, ran to her. Over the years, Furie had acquired a set of friends. Emily, or Millie, was a fifteen year old who preferred a quiet life, but found none. Her older brother, Tom, was seventeen and was Millie's total opposite. Where she was quiet, he was the loudest person there. The youngest of Furie's assortment of allies was Antonio, who was thirteen like her. What the two didn't know was that they each held feelings for the other. "Are you alright?" Antonio asked as he came over to Furie. "I'm fine." she said. She then turned to her brother. "Well, that sums up this adventure. Back to Rome. And Carl." she said. The Soul Hunter watched as the six quietly made their way through the streets. He remembered his orders:Take as many as you can. He held his gun carefully. He shut his eyes and pulled the trigger. Millie let out a scream in pain as she fell to the ground. Everyone turned and came rushing to her. Tom's eyes widened when he saw her back. A massive black hole was in the middle. He then turned her over and let out a yell of shock when Millie's eyes came into view. Instead of their light brown hue, they had become coal-black. "She's not dead." Furie said. "But something's wrong with her." she said. "We need to tell the Cardinal." Gabriel said. He picked up Millie and carried her to their horses outside of the town. He turned to Furie. "Something tells me whatever got Millie is probably looking for us too." "Well, this will be a fun adventure." Furie replied. "For once, we've become the hunted..."
