VAN HELSING 3: SOUL HUNTERS
(I'm just going to stop saying this, I do not own Van Helsing or anything from the movie and all made up characters are mine.) Chapter 6: The other Sabrina The boy shoved open the doors to the chamber. He didn't care that everyone thought he was mad.He knew what he saw. He called out in a loud voice, "Sabrina's choice! I found her! She's alive after all!" he threw his hands in the air whilst shouting this. His screams were directed to an old man peering over a large basin filled with water. The room they were in was made entirely out of stone. No light was in it whatsoever. There was a small set of stairs that led to a round platform in the center of the room. The boy mounted the steps and ran to the old man, who looked up at him with confused eyes. "You mean you saw her? She's alive?" "Yes!" the boy shouted. He was beyond ecstatic. "I'll show you!" he waved his hand over the basin of water, causing an image to appear. A young girl, no more than thirteen, lay upon a couch in a small house. Dark brown hair lay around her head. She wasn't asleep yet, so one could see her bright blue eyes. A dark cloak covered her body, hiding her arsenol of weaponary. The old man turned to his pupil. "Fool of a boy! Vladimir, do you not know who this is? That is Victoria Van Helsing, one of the youngest hunters ever to roam this earth, and the one we must use for the ritual." Vladimir's eyes widened. "You mean she's-" "Yes. The younger sister of Gabriel Van Helsing, and you know well what that makes her." "Why would Sabrina choose this girl, after all this time? Did you think she knew who she was?" "Yes, of course she knew what she was!" the old man shouted. "Why do you think she was given the power to see through time? In order to summon our army, she must die." "No! I refuse to let you kill her!" the boy shouted. He looked down into the basin again. Show me her future. the boy thought.Victoria lay underneath a tree. She wore a long black dress, which was very unlike her. Her long brown hair covered her face, concealing her eyes. What was most surorising to see was on her back. A set of pitch black wings! "No! She can't die!" Vladimir shouted. He brought his hands up to his head, trying to deny what he was seeing. He didn't want to look, but he couldn't rip his eyes away. The old man saw the image and sighed. "It is fate, Vladimir." he said. He felt sorry for the boy, but he mostly felt deep pleasure. The plan would work after all. Then an idea came into his mind. "Wait, what if we were able to bring Sabrina back with continuing the plan?" Vladimir looked up. "How? She must die!" he said. "We must kill Victoria so the army can feast upon her soul. Surely you can summon Sabrina's soul into her body before we kill her, so she can take over the body. Your curses will be lifted and you'll be togeter again. The boy's eyes widened. "That's brilliant! I'll capture her right away!" "Be cautious. The sorceror will no doubt send them to the ruins of the manor. You leave at dawn." with that, the old man left me room, leaving Vladimir alone in the room. He peered into the basin again, noe viewing a slumbering Victoria. "You'll soon be mine again, Sabrina." Victoria was in a dark room alone. She had no weapons to defend herself with. However, she felt something strong spread within her. She soon heard footsteps coming her way. She tried to run, but she found herself planted to the floor. She wanted to scream, but she couldn't find the power to even whisper. She soon saw the person making such heavy steps. The young boy came into view, but he wasn't little anymore. He looked like Dracula himself! "W-What do you want with me?" she asked, her voice quavering. The man chuckled. "Your heart." he whispered. He grabbed her by the waist and pulled her to him. He leaned down like he was going to kiss her. But before he could, Victoria had punched him. Victoria's eyes shot open, realizing that she wasn't punching a stranger, but her brother! Gabriel clutched his nose and crouched down. As he was doing this, Victoria remembered their surroundings. They had followed the young teenager, who claimed his name was Cornelius, to an old house, filled with couches and chairs. He said to wait until morning to see his master, whoever he was. Everyone was asleep, except for her and Gabriel. Her attention soon snapped back to her brother. "Gabriel, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean it!" she said. Gabriel looked up at her, dropping his hands. "You were panicking in your sleep. Is everything alright?" he asked. His nose was still sore, and already a small patch of blue was appearing on it, but his eyes showed concern for Victoria. She didn't want him to worry about her. This secret would be kept as well as her other one. "I'm fine. It was only a dream." she lied. With that she watched Gabriel shrug and go back to his chair. Victoria felt her nightmare wasn't going to leave so soon. Still, maybe the boy's master had some answers. She would find out tomorrow, She closed her eyes again, only to be troubled by the same dream. After being haunted again by the same vision, she gave up altogether. She folded her arms across her chest in disappointment. After all this time, she was still plagued by nightmares. Can't someone just give me a break already? she thought to herself. That was when she heard voices from outside. Hunters! was Victoria's first and quickest thought. She snatched her swords and crept her way to the door. She opened it up a crack to see what was going on. It wasn't anything evil, like Victoria thought it would be. It was just Antonio and Isabelle, standing outside, bathed in moonlight. The two were whispering to each other, making their conversation inaudible to Victoria. "Just remember, that if there's anything you need, just let me know." Antonio said. Isabelle looked up at him with adoring eyes. "Actually there is something I need." she said, her voice carrying a mischievous tone. "What is it?" he asked. What Isabelle did next shocked both him and Victoria. Isabelle kissed him! Antonio couldn't help but smile softly, and kiss her back. Victoria had the opposite reaction. Her hands flew up to her mouth to silence her gasp. She felt tears well up in her eyes. Don't cry, you crybaby. Oh, God, don't cry don't cry don't cry. she thought, but it was to no avail. She shut the door and ran back to her couch. She pressed her face on the cushions and let her tears flow. When the two came back in, they saw Victoria, laying face down on the couch. "Are you alright?" Antonio asked her. There was no answer. Victoria knew what it felt like to cry yourself to sleep again. (This is a short chapter, I know, but it was coming up anyway.
