VAN HELSING 3: SOUL HUNTERS

(All right, here is the promised epilogue, which will end my Van Helsing series. Should I write another V.H fic, it'll more than likely contain a different story. I wouldn't want to beat a dead horse and go for a threesome with my O.Cs. Anyway, enough rambling! On with the show!)

Nine months later

Gabriel rode fast and hard, determined to reach home. The past few months had been filled with excitement for the Van Helsing's and company. Victoria, now the age of fourteen, had exceptional control over her blood lust, and only fed upon animals. She had also managed to develop her musical skills. She could now sing and played piano for the others at times, much to their pleasure. Yet all of the progress with Victoria was nothing to equal what happened to Anna.

She was pregnant.

The order didn't need him for a while, so he got to spend most of his time musing with Anna what parenthood would be like. With Dracula long dead, and Transylvania safe, they lived in Valerious manor with the others. Assignments from Rome were sent by mail. They were wondering how they'd manage to keep up with a child, three teenagers, and a friar. Yet they knew they'd make it.

However, less than two weeks ago, the order had Gabriel, Antonio, and Tom called away on an assignment not far from where they lived. Victoria offered to go and take the assignment, but he refused, saying Anna needed her here to keep her safe.

"Besides, you wouldn't want to leave protecting her to Carl and Millie, would you?" he asked before he left, making Victoria smile. After having a passionate kiss with Anna, he and the boys left.

They had to deal with a pack of werewolves terrorizing Budapest. It was handled easy enough, but they couldn't kill the pack leader, who vanished after most of his henchmen were killed. They assumed that with the death of his power, he would soon diminish into legend.

"Gabriel, slow down!" came a cry. Tom managed to catch up, Antonio not far behind.

"What is it?" Gabriel asked.

"You're going a mile a minute! We're in no hurry!" Tom said.

"I just want to get home to Anna." Gabriel said.

"Relax, we're in the village. It won't take long." Antonio said, reassuring Gabriel.

Their conversation was interrupted by the sound of someone screaming. They whipped their heads around to see Carl running towards them. It was odd enough to see him outside the manor, and even more so to see him in the dead of night.

"Carl? What are you doing here?" Tom asked.

The friar pointed back to the manor. "Werewolves! Anna! Victoria alone! Aaah!" he screeched.

"Calm down, Carl! What are you trying to say?" Antonio said.

He looked up to see Millie run towards them, her blonde hair flying behind her.

"Millie, translate Carl's gibberish for us!" Tom said.

Millie took a deep breath. "Werewolves are attacking the manor!"

"What?"Gabriel yelled. It had to be the pack leader they didn't kill.

"And Anna just went into labor!"

"Wait, what?" Gabriel asked.

Millie smiled. "She's having her baby."

Gabriel's eyes went wide in shock. "Wait, who's helping her? Is she up there alone? How many werewolves are there? Is she safe?"

Millie laughed. "Calm down, Gabriel! Victoria's up there helping Anna as we speak."

Victoria, meanwhile, was firing revolvers out from the balcony, shooting the intruders. Anna was in her bed, crying out in pain.

"Hang in there, Anna!" Victoria called. Allowing her guard to be dropped for the briefest instant, she ran to the bed, grabbed a cold washcloth, and placed it on Anna's forehead.

"Victoria, where's Gabriel?" Anna asked.

Victoria sighed. "I wish I knew. It'd be nice to have extra hands. But we can't worry about that now. We need to focus on you." she said. She whipped her head to the balcony, realizing a werewolf was gripping onto the ledge.

Victoria ran to the edge, grabbed her revolvers, and went back to firing. "You're not helping my case!" she shouted to the many werewolves below.

"Victoria!" came a voice that definitely was not Anna or a monster. She looked down to see Gabriel and the others, holding their own.

"Gabriel! Just the man I needed!" Victoria cried happily. "Do you think you can hold off our friends here while I help Anna?" she asked.

"Wait, I'm coming up!" he said.

"No! I need you to stay down there! I can take care of things up here!" she said.

"Victoria, I've got to be there!" Gabriel yelled back.

"And you will, but right now, I-no, Anna's depending on making sure no one gets inside! You have to trust me."

Gabriel sighed. "All right, but I swear if something bad happens-"

"Gabriel Van Helsing, I swear nothing bad will happen! Just make sure nothing gets inside!" she said as she ran back to help Anna. She snatched the rag put it back on the woman's forehead.

"How does she know what to do?" Tom asked.

Millie shrugged. "She reads, unlike some people." she said as she fired into a werewolf.

"I read for your information!" Tom yelled.

As the two were arguing, Gabriel had just sliced the arm off a werewolf using a Tojo-Blade. It held the stump left and howled in pain. It turned to Van Helsing, ready to kill. I lunged for him, only to have it's heart pierced by a silver bullet, fired by Antonio hanging from a tree.

"Good shot." Gabriel commented.

"Thank you, I've been practicing."

Meanwhile, Victoria had her back against the balcony doors, which had been shut. Two werewolves had managed to scale the wall and were now trying to get in.

"Don't make me get angry." she growled. Her eyes, which had been closed then, had just turned black. With a bit too much force, she shoved back against the doors. They blew back, causing the werewolves to fall over the ledge.

"Bloody idiots. Where's Gabriel?" she asked as her eyes returned to normal. She turned to Anna, who had tear stains on her face. Victoria knew it would happen soon. She dashed back to her sister in law.

"Come on, Anna, you can do this!" she cried. Her response was a yell of pain.

Soon, it was all over below outside. Everyone was doubled over and panting, all except for Gabriel, who had one thing on his mind: Anna. He ran to upstairs, soon to hear footsteps behind him. He whipped his head around to see the others at his heels. When they made it to the doors to the master bedroom, all was silent except for Anna's cries.

Everyone feared the worst for the briefest instant, then Victoria opened the door by a hairline crack and popped her head out.

"Millie, can you help me?" she asked. Her voice was a soft whisper. Millie nodded and ran inside.

"What about-" the men started, but the door was shut in their face.

For three agonizing hours, the men sat with their backs to the wall, waiting. Tom and Antonio were sitting next to each other, looking around nervously. Carl was muttering a few prayers for Anna, every now and then crossing himself.

But Gabriel was the most anxious. He had his hands rubbing the sides of his temples. His eyes were closed in am attempt to remain calm.

Millie stepped out just as the sun had risen. Gabriel stood up instantly. The teenage girl slumped against the door, a smile on her face.

" Anna's fine, and they are just beautiful." she said.

"They?!" everyone shouted.

Gabriel, with his whole body shaking walked in the room.

A fire was going in the hearth. Anna was under the sheets of the bed with Victoria sitting beside her, each holding a small bundle. They both looked exhausted, but they were smiling. Victoria looked up and smiled wider.

"Meet your children." she said, her voice still retaining her musical quality. She handed her bundle to him, then slumped into a chair next to the bed.

Gabriel couldn't help but stare at the child in his arms. It was wrapped in a white blanket. He could make out Anna's curly chocolate brown locks through the white, and when the child's eyes opened, bright brown eyes gleamed at him.

Gabriel didn't stop a smile growing on his face. He turned to Victoria.

"That's a boy." she said pointing the one Gabriel was holding. "And Anna's holding your daughter."

"Gabriel," Anna called. "Did your mother have blue eyes?"

"Yes, Victoria inherited them. Why?"

"Take a look." Anna said. Gabriel sat next to his wife, looking at his daughter. Brown hair like his own appeared, but the girl's eyes were a vivid blue color that gleamed.

Gabriel smiled. "Victoria, our daughter has the same eyes as you." he said. His sister rose an eyebrow, went over, and looked upon the child's face. Blue eyes met their identical twins, and the teenager's eyes widened.

"Gabriel, they're perfect." Victoria said, in reference to both of the children. "What are you going to name them?"

Gabriel and Anna turned to each other. They hadn't really thought about names when they realized Anna was pregnant. They knew they should have, but it just slipped their mind.

"Well, name them something interesting. I don't want any plain names running around. These are Van Helsings after all." Victoria stated.

Gabriel turned to his daughter. It wasn't crying out, but just simply staring wide-eyed at him.

It actually looked peaceful.

"Serenity..." Gabriel mused. The two girls turned to him.

"What about Serenity?"

"I like it... what about her middle name?" Anna asked.

"Personally, I would prefer you chose."

Anna thought for a moment, and it soon struck her. "Victoria."

Furie turned to her, her eyebrows raised. "Say what?"

"Her middle name's Victoria."

Victoria's mouth hang open for a while, before her normally pale cheeks became a bright rosy red. "You know what? I think that's a great name." she smiled. "Now what about your son?"

"How about Michael? I had always liked that one." Anna shrugged.

"Alright, Michael. Michael, and his middle name's Velkan." Gabriel said.

Anna smiled.

A small knock on the door made them turn to the door. "Um, is everything alright in there?" Carl's timid voice somehow managed to appear.

The three smiled. Gabriel placed Michael into Victoria's arms and opened the door. "It's alright, Carl. You can come in..."

(And there you have it! I hope you enjoyed the series as much as I had writing it. I'll still continue my X-men fic, so keep your eyes on that! Read and review!)
